Join or renew now before membership rates increase Sept 1!

Before you head into the long weekend, we wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out on this very limited time offer to lock in your membership rate for an entire year -a fantastic value!

If you have been considering joining Slow Food Seattle (or renewing your membership), the next two days are an excellent time to do it! On September 1st, (that’s Sunday!) the national membership rates will be increasing from $25 to $60 annual fee. Join before the end of August to join at the current $25 level.

WHY SLOW FOOD?

Slow Food believes in good, clean, fair food for everyone. Membership in Slow Food helps supports the organization’s efforts with programs like…

  • Regional Biodiversity: Slow Food has programs promoting regional, indigenous, and delicious foods; preserving and growing traditional foods; & creating access to biodiverse foods.
  • Chef Ron Askew shows students the Makah Ozette potato

School Gardens: Local Slow Food chapters (including ours here in Puget Sound!) help create and support school gardens. (A local school, Forest Ridge School in Bellevue will be harvesting its first crop of Makah Ozette potatoes, a special variety that has been part of the Slow Food Presidia.)

  • Ark of Taste: Slow Food’s Ark of Taste is a catalog of over 200 delicious foods in danger of extinction. The Ark’s goal is to help promote these foods to ensure their continued existence.

By joining, you’ll be supporting these efforts, and also gaining access to the local chapter of Slow Food Seattle. Join our community of fellow food-lovers who are passionate about good, clean, fair food. Members will be given first or sometimes exclusive access to Slow Food events.
